Saturday, we had a family day and spent the afternoon at Patriots Place an outdoor shopping center next to Gillette Stadium (where the Patriots play). It was so much fun. There was Irish music, bagpipers, dancers, face painting...the whole nine yards. While we were sitting enjoying our lunch and talking about how great of a day it was we realized how different our lives were 3 years ago! Although at times the memories (or lack there of) of past St Paddy's day were a blast I didn't want to be anywhere else this year. Being surrounded by what seemed like a million kids at a little Irish festival enjoying great music with my little family was bliss. (Later that night we did get a sitter and went to a friends house to take in a few green "adult beverages". Which was also a great time.)
To end what seemed already like a great weekend we went into Boston with our friends the Julseth's. It was BEAUTIFUL out today. Absolutely gorgeous! It was awesome to take advantage of the perfect day and be outside with our friends. We rode the "T" into Southie to the St. Patrick's Day parade. That was quite the experience. On the way down it was a bit crowded to say the least. Reilly was unsure of the train at first but seemed like a pro on the way home (he even tried to hold on to the hanging arm handle and was flirting with all the women around him). After the parade we walked over to the Public Garden. We let the kids run around, play with the duckling statues and even tried a few cartwheels out for old time sake.
Here are some pictures of our fantastic weekend! :)
