Bath time

At first we were a little scared Reilly was not going to be a fan of bath time (we didnt think this was even an option with two parents that were swimmers.)
As those of you with babies know, you can not give a newborn a "real" bath until their umbilical cord has dried up and fallen off. So we had to do a sponge bath for the first couple weeks. This was definitely a learning process. Below is a pic of his first sponge bath when he was 3 days old. It was the first night we brought him home. He was not a fan! This made me scared and nervous. I didn't want to hurt him or break him if you will. He looked so fragile! (because of this Alex stepped up to the plate and I watched and took pictures)
Luckily his belly button started healing and it was safe to put him in the baby tub. We were so surprised when we put him in his little whale tub! He loved it! Thank goodness! He was so calm. Here is a video (hopefully it works) of one of his first baths in the tub.

He started really enjoying the bath. He shows his happiness by looking at himself in the mirror, kicking his little legs, talking to us and smiling. It makes us so happy that he is so comfortable in the water now. He even does a little breast stroke kick! He must be a natural! We can't wait to take him to the pool in a couple of months. Below are a few pics from bath time.
