Before Ben got here we were trying to think of a way to ask him if he would be Reilly's godfather. We wanted to come up with something different than what we did for my sister Colleen. But when we were thinking of ideas we realized we both had never seen Ben with a baby before. We questioned if he had ever even held a baby before (which he had not.) We were trying to do something creative that would surprise him. We came up with writing it on a onesie (but figured he would never change him), put a sign in his crib (but figured he wouldn't put him down to nap/sleep), write it on a bib (but figured he wouldn't feed him)....... it seemed like every idea we came up with wouldn't work for a guy who doesn't even know how to hold a baby.Here is a picture of Ben's first time holding a baby! He did a great job!
While Alex and Ben went to the store, I placed a sign by Reilly in his bouncer.
However, the timing could not have been worse for Ben and Alex to walk through the door. This is what they got greeted with:
Luckily, Ben said YES! He came to the conclusion that Reilly was shedding tears of joy because he was so excited!So far Ben has been great with Reilly. He has held him and even fed him earlier this evening. We are just waiting for Ben to change a dirty diaper before he leaves. :)
